Statistically, women who have experienced an abortion are all around us. Yet, few of them ever speak about it. It’s their dark secret. The after effects of abortion can mess up a woman’s mind and her emotions for years after the event.
Nearly half of pregnancies among American women are unintended, and four in 10 of these are terminated by abortion.*
Twenty-two percent of all pregnancies (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.*
In a study of 100 post-abortive women, 46% of women agreed that the abortion provoked a major crisis in their lives which was frequently followed by an unstable marital or social relationship.**
Abortion is a trauma that causes women to give up on their dreams, passions and life pursuits. They see a trail of brokenness and emptiness that they left behind and lose hope. As a result they settle for less in life when they do not need to. God is in the healing and restoration business.
